Common Mistakes when Choosing Borla or Flowmaster Exhaust Systems

Choosing the right parts to upgrade your car can be quite difficult and confusing.  Not only do you have to ensure that the parts themselves are of good quality, but you also have to make sure that all of the parts that you use will work well in unison.  This is especially the case when it comes to choosing performance exhaust systems.  Borla and Flowmaster exhaust systems are two examples of some quality performance auto parts with great builds.  Even if you choose these quality brands, though, there are some common mistakes that you can make and here are some of them:

When it comes down to it, Flownmaster and Borla performance auto parts work best when they are used in kits.  For example, it would be a bad idea to mix parts from Borla and parts from Flowmaster to create a “custom” exhaust system.  Not only are you complicating matters, but you are also potentially ruining the possible gains you can get from choosing a single, set system.

Another common mistake when it comes to these exhaust systems is that some consumers fail to get the right people to install the parts.  It would be best if you have the parts installed by the company themselves, so that they can install it to their standards and ensure that they do a perfect job at it.  Having your Flowmaster or Borla exhaust systems installed by another person may result in problems.

Finally, perhaps the biggest mistake you can make when purchasing Borla or Flowmaster exhaust systems is that you choose parts that aren’t made specifically for your car chassis or engine type.  Not only can choosing the wrong system lead to an ill-fitting exhaust system, but (if it does fit properly) it may not perform as well as a system that was designed for your car.
