Used Land Rover - The Approved Used Scheme

Buying a used car can be a huge stress and worry, more so than when you buy a brand new one. That’s because it’s human nature to worry about the unfamiliar and unknown, which is effectively what buying a used car is; unknown and often uncertain. Buying a Used Land Rover can help minimise these fears however, not just because of their strength, but because of Land Rover’s approved used scheme (available when you buy from an official Used Land Rover dealership).

Land Rover’s approved scheme is designed for one purpose only, and that’s to give you added peace of mind, and to reassure you that you’re buying a car which is in the best possible condition that it can be in. But how do they do this?

To start with, trained Land Rover technicians carry out a thorough inspection of every Used Land Rover they sell before it hits the sales floor. This inspection covers everything from the paintwork to the mechanics, and if any repairs need to be made, they are done so swiftly, using only Land Rover parts as replacements. The way that the Used Land Rover team prepare new cars is closely monitored, with a review being conducted each year.

When a Used Land Rover has been test driven and declared ready of sale, it will then be given one of two warranties. The first warranty is called the Land Rover Approved Warranty, and is given to cars which are under five years old, and have a mileage of less than 75,000. This is a comprehensive warranty which is awarded for twelve months, and there’s no mileage limit, meaning you won’t be punished for driving your Used Land Rover everyday. You can also renew this warranty for a period of up to two years, so it’s always good to talk this possibility over with the dealership before leaving.

The second warranty that can be given to a Used Land Rover is called the Used Land Rover Select Warranty. This is given to Used Land Rovers which are below ten-years-old, and have a mileage of less than 100,000. Unlike the Approved warranty, this one has a mileage limit of 25,000, but there is the possibility to renew it for up to two years.

An official Used Land Rover dealership can also provide you with emergency assistance, not only in the UK, but in Europe too. This assistance covers you for a multitude of things, including accommodation costs where necessary.

Finally, the Used Land Rover team can also verify a car’s history and true mileage, taking away some of the uncertainty you might feel about owning a car which has had a history with somebody else. They can also check whether it has ever been reported as stolen, un-roadworthy, or if there is any outstanding finance on it, increasing your peace of mind.
